Taken too soon - Impendulo Vonk

Impendulo Vonk came to us as a ugly looking 22month old colt. A few months after his arrival the attributes that prompted me to keep a stallion, started to become evident. His sire is KWB Lusanthric and his dam is KWB Emse, both very athletic horses and proven breeding stock.

Vonk was the undefeated Western Cape Nooitgedacht Stallion Champion for three years running and came second at two WC Showing champs for stallions in-hand. As a three year old he not only won the 3yo class at the Dressage Free Movement Show 2016 but also had the highest score of the non-warmbloods. This show was judged by the internationally acclaimed Rick van Miert and he commented on how well he moves.

Vonk's backing was done by LM Horsemanship and it became apparent soon how promising this boy's future will be. Back home he gave Jo-marie such pleasure and reward, making his loss even a greater one.

In mid January however our boy was taken from us by a freak accident and the vets unfortunately could not pinpoint the cause early enough. He fought valiantly but in the end his demise would be inevitable due to the site of the injury.

Vonk leaves behind a gelded son, Karorado Aranos, out of Impedulo Adelheid. His stud duties would have commenced toward the end of 2019 making this all the more devastating from a breeding perspective. We have Vonk's full brother Karorado Everard, that might be a suitable stallion candidate.... only time will tell.

Thank you to everyone that send messages of condolences. He was well loved, considering the short time he was entrusted to us. May he cause all sorts of havoc on the other side of the rainbow bridge. Till we meet again boytjie.
